Managing Services
Your services are the foundation of your booking page. Clients will browse and select from these when making appointments. From your dashboard, click "Manage Services" to access the services page.
Adding a New Service
Click the "Add Service" button to create a new service. Fill in the following fields:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Service Name | The name clients will see (e.g., "Women's Haircut", "Full Highlights") |
| Category | Choose from: Haircut, Coloring, Styling, Nails, Massage, Facial, Waxing, or Other |
| Duration | How long the service takes in minutes (in 5-minute increments) |
| Price | The price you charge for this service (in dollars) |
| Description | Optional details about the service (shown to clients) |
Be specific with your services. Instead of "Haircut - Starting at $30," create separate services like "Women's Haircut - $45" and "Men's Haircut - $30" so clients know exactly what they'll pay.
Editing a Service
Click on any service in the list to edit its details. You can change the name, price, duration, category, or description at any time. Changes take effect immediately on your booking page.
Deactivating vs. Deleting
You have two options for services you no longer offer:
- Deactivate — Toggle the service off to hide it from clients. The service remains in your system and can be reactivated later. Past appointments using this service are preserved.
- Delete — Permanently remove the service. Use this for services you'll never offer again. Requires confirmation.
Deactivate services instead of deleting them, especially if you might offer them again seasonally or in the future. This keeps your reporting history intact.
Service Categories
Services are grouped by category on your booking page. This helps clients find what they're looking for quickly. The available categories are:
- Haircut
- Coloring
- Styling
- Nails
- Massage
- Facial
- Waxing
- Other
Managing Staff
Add your team members so clients can book with their preferred stylist. From your dashboard, click "Manage Staff" to access the staff page.
Adding a Staff Member
Click "Add Staff Member" and fill in their details:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| First Name | Required. The staff member's first name. |
| Last Name | Required. The staff member's last name. |
| Role | Optional title like "Senior Stylist" or "Nail Technician" |
| Phone | Optional contact number (for your records) |
| Optional email address (for your records) | |
| Bio | Optional description shown to clients |
Assigning Services to Staff
After adding a staff member, you'll see a list of checkboxes for all your active services. Check the services this person can perform. Only those services will be available when a client selects this staff member.
Make sure each staff member has at least one service assigned. If no services are checked, clients won't see any available time slots when selecting that staff member.
Setting Staff Working Hours
Each staff member can have their own schedule. This is useful if team members work different days or hours. To set individual working hours:
- Click on the staff member to edit
- Scroll down to the "Working Hours" section
- For each day, set the start and end times or mark it as closed
- Use "Copy to All" to quickly apply the same hours to all days
Staff working hours override business hours. If your salon is open 9-5 but a stylist only works 12-8, clients can only book them during their personal schedule.
Deactivating Staff
If a staff member is on leave or no longer with your salon, you can deactivate them instead of deleting. This:
- Hides them from the booking page
- Preserves their appointment history
- Allows you to reactivate them later
If the staff member has upcoming confirmed appointments, you'll see a warning showing how many. Consider reassigning or contacting those clients before deactivating.
For Solo Salon Owners
If you're the only person at your salon, you still need to add yourself as a staff member. Here's why:
- The booking system needs to know who will perform the services
- Your personal working hours may differ from the salon's posted hours
- Clients may want to see who they're booking with
Simply add yourself as a staff member, assign all your services, and set your working hours. When clients book, they'll automatically be booked with you.
When you only have one staff member, the "First Available" option on the booking page will automatically select you, making the booking process faster for clients.
