Business Hours
Your business hours determine when clients can book appointments. From your dashboard, click "Business Hours" to access this page.
Setting Your Hours
For each day of the week, you can:
- Set an opening time (when you start accepting appointments)
- Set a closing time (last appointment time, accounting for service duration)
- Check "Closed" to mark the day as unavailable
Times are in 24-hour format (e.g., 09:00 for 9 AM, 17:00 for 5 PM).
Using "Copy to All"
If you have the same hours most days, use the "Copy to All" button next to any day. This copies that day's hours to all other days that aren't marked as closed. It's a huge time-saver!
Most salons set Monday-Friday with the same hours, then adjust Saturday and Sunday separately. Set Monday first, click "Copy to All," then tweak Saturday and mark Sunday as closed.
How Hours Affect Bookings
Clients can only book time slots that:
- Fall within your business hours
- Fall within the staff member's working hours (if different)
- Allow enough time to complete the service before closing
Individual staff members can have their own working hours. If your business is open 9-5 but a stylist works 12-8, clients can only book that stylist during their personal hours.
Holidays & Closures
Block off days when your salon is closed for holidays, vacations, or special events. From your dashboard, click "Holidays & Closures".
US Federal Holidays
Trimlii includes all major US federal holidays. Simply toggle on the ones you observe:
When a holiday is enabled, clients won't be able to book appointments on that date. The system automatically calculates the correct date each year (for holidays like Thanksgiving that fall on different dates).
Custom Closures
Need to close for a reason not covered by federal holidays? Add a custom closure:
- Click "Add Custom Closure"
- Enter a name (e.g., "Staff Training Day")
- Select the date
- Optionally add notes (visible only to you)
- Check "Send notifications" if you want to alert clients with existing bookings
When you add a closure on a date with existing appointments, consider notifying those clients. Check the "Send notifications" box to automatically email them about the closure.
Managing Closures
Your custom closures are listed with their dates and any notes you added. Click the delete button next to any closure to remove it and re-open that date for bookings.
Deposit Settings
Deposits are a powerful tool for reducing no-shows. When clients pay upfront, they're much more likely to show up. From your dashboard, click "Settings" to configure your deposit percentage.
How Deposits Work
When a client books an appointment, they pay a percentage of the total service cost upfront. This deposit:
- Is collected at the time of booking through secure payment processing
- Is applied toward the final bill when they visit
- Is refundable if they cancel 24+ hours in advance
- Is forfeited if they no-show or cancel with less than 24 hours notice
Choosing Your Percentage
Use the slider or enter a number to set your deposit percentage (1-100%). The page shows a preview of what clients will pay:
Recommended Percentages
- 25-35% — Lower barrier to booking, still discourages no-shows
- 50% — Balanced approach, most common (default)
- 75-100% — Maximum protection against no-shows, but may deter some clients
Studies show that deposits can reduce no-shows by up to 70%. Even a small deposit (25%) makes clients significantly more likely to keep their appointment or cancel properly.
Cancellation Policy
The default cancellation policy is:
- 24+ hours before appointment: Full deposit refund
- Less than 24 hours: Deposit forfeited
- No-show: Deposit forfeited
This policy is shown to clients during the booking process, so they know what to expect.
Deposits are processed securely through Stripe. You'll need to connect your Stripe account to accept deposits. This feature is coming soon — watch for updates in your dashboard!

Now that everything is set up, don't forget to share your booking link everywhere — social media, your website, business cards, and in-store signage. The more visible your booking link, the more appointments you'll receive!
